hej, everyone!
i had a rather inconsistent taste prety much all my life, so this is pretty tough.
if i had to give you a playlist of my (what is commonly acknowledged as) childhood, it would mainly consist of music box melodies, lullabies and old german folk songs and i am pretty sure you don't wanna hear about that.
so i decided to make a playlist of what my late childhood/early teens feel like in retrospect and things i would listen to on repeat when i was stuck in teen angst phases:
(1. spiracle - soap&skin
probably THE song describing my childhood now that i look back
2. mad world - gary jules
the typical straight-forward depressive song and i cannot help but loving it, still.
3. jesus christ - brand new
i discovered this band when i was like, 15?
they are still one of my favourites today
4. creep (acoustic version) - radiohead
of course, this song got me into them years and years ago.
i am aware of the fact that this is probably one of the weakest songs they ever made.
but it sums up some of my teen angst moments realy well.
5. fate - bertine zetlitz
yeah... the sweet sugar-coated sound of insanity when you are about 16.
6. real to me - brian mcfadden
god, i was madly in love with this man when i was 12!
i used to listen through this album several times per day.)
(this is neither complete nor very representative, merely the first few things that popped into my mind.
also, i have a huge thing for mixtapes and i am not that sad, actually)
love, sarah.
